How Do Power Optimizers Function?

A solar panel power optimizer is an essential component of any solar energy system, crafted to boost the efficiency and performance of each panel. Traditional systems connect panels in series, where the performance of the entire array can be degraded by a single underperforming panel. In contrast, power optimizers enable each panel to operate independently. This feature is particularly advantageous when panels are shaded, dirty, or oriented differently from others in the array.

Power optimizers are affixed to individual solar panels, where they convert the DC electricity produced into optimized voltage and current.
