Hot water that costs less — the next step in your all-electric home

A CO₂ heat pump draws roughly a quarter of the electricity a resistive element does for the same hot water. Paired with a daytime schedule on solar, most households we install for see 70–80% off their hot water cost.

It boils the tank on a schedule, not on demand. We set that window at handover — daylight hours if you have solar, off-peak if you don't — so you're heating water at the cheapest rate available to you.

It runs at about 37dB at low speed, quieter than a fridge, and it heats while you're asleep or at work. Being straight with you: on cold winter mornings and during a defrost cycle it gets noticeably louder for a while. Siting it away from bedroom windows is part of what the assessment covers.

It holds output down to around −10°C with no electric booster, which covers cold-climate Victoria, the ACT and Tasmania. Frost on the back of the unit and a bit of steam during defrost are normal winter behaviour, not a fault.

Periodically the system raises tank temperature above 63°C to kill legionella bacteria — a safety cycle built into the unit. A tempering valve keeps the water reaching your taps at a safe temperature regardless.

Only if usage runs well past what the tank was sized for. If you go a few days barely using hot water the tank can also sit cool until the next scheduled boil. Both are fixable by adjusting the schedule — call us and we'll do it over the phone.

One visit, one crew, water off for roughly two hours around midday. You have hot water again that evening, and your old unit leaves with us for recycling.

Ten years parts and labour on the system, subject to Pure Electric's current warranty terms and correct installation. We register it before we leave your place.

While the tank is heating (boiling symbol lit on the controller) the water expands and the valve releases a little — that's by design. If it's leaking when the unit isn't heating, ring us: left alone it pushes your bills up.

Check whether the earth leakage breaker has tripped or the plug has come out. In cold weather the LCD can simply look dim — the screen contrast is adjustable. Still blank after that, and it needs a service call.

Water sitting in the pipe comes through first, so give it a moment. After a few days of light use, or a long power outage mid-cycle, the tank may not have re-boiled fully. If it persists, we'll check the schedule and sizing with you.

Codes like H76 (controller communication), H11 (wireless LAN), F19 (hot water temperature) or F67 (boiling pump) point to a specific component. Most clear themselves within a minute; if not, read the code to us and we'll bring the right part.

Copper ions in the water cause it and it's harmless. A regular clean lifts it.
